It all began with our Blinks, our original summary format. A Blink distills books into 15 minute audio and text explainers, highlighting their key ideas.

OUR STORY
The power of a simple idea: the Story of Blinkist's Success.
Blinkist was founded in 2012 by four friends to help people fit more learning into their daily lives.
The founders soon narrowed their focus to the most established source of learning, nonfiction books, and developed Blinks - a summary format to give people access to the most important lessons from nonfiction books in 15 minutes.
Since its public launch in 2013, Blinkist eventually took off and is now used by over 26 million people worldwide, helping them grow personally and professionally, and broadening their horizons every day. Blinkist partners with more than 45 of the world's top non-fiction publishers, and is backed by world-class investors such as Insight Partners.
After establishing Blinks as a new way to learn and engage with books, the company got back to its initial, broader learning focus and has launched new formats such as Shortcasts and Guides in recent years.
In May 2023 Blinkist was acquired by Go1. Together with Go1, we'll continue our journey and evolve Blinkist into the world's leading service for bite-sized learning.
